Ever since Ronda Rousey graced the Octagon with her skills, people have wondered if we would ever see a WMMA fighter in the UFC as dominant as the women’s bantamweight champion. It looks like the UFC may have found a Ronda Rousey for the newly opened strawweight division.
UFC President Dana White spoke with media members about TUF 20, which will crown the inaugural women’s strawweight champion.
“I love this season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter,’ It’s way better than the last season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ … It’s a really good season. The reality is great, but the fights are f-cking awesome, and that’s all I really care about. That’s the way I feel about ‘TUF: Mexico’ too. Going into ‘TUF 19,’ I knew. I was like, ‘Oh my God. I don’t know how long people are going to hang in there for this.’ But we’ve got a good one this season. Everybody is going to be happy.”
“Women’s MMA has come so far in 13 years. It’s unbelievable. You guys are going to be blown away (by ‘TUF 20′). Yeah, there’s a Ronda Rousey on this season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Absolutely.
What do you think PENNation? Is this setting the stage for a potential superfight between Ronda Rousey and this unnamed TUF 20 fighter down the line?
